take a beating , verbally

At work yesterday I called an insurance company and the costumer service person I got was so obviously not America. I would say from India based on his accent and his peculiar lack of taking my frustrating personal. In my experience, over and over again other countries customer service agents they have this ability to take a beating, verbally. I’m not kidding. What must they think of Americans??? LOL when you call lets say, blue cross (in America) and you get feisty, low and behold they get feisty back. What is that? Are the better trained? Are they not picking up on the anger in ones voice? Are the better self controlled? What the heck. Anybody know what I’m talking about???

A place for the broken

A place for the broken

I think pretty much my whole walk as a Christian I have felt like I did not fit into the “church”. Toss in one part lower middle class and one part husband won’t attend with me. Mix it up = insecure me. The good news/ bad news : other people feel this way too. I know they do, when I stopped and got over myself and could listen to others I heard their insecurities. In a perfect world the church would be for the broken, by the broken unto the broken. I am afraid in America we have so much social, cultural and traditional reasons for church that we loose a little something. We are not persecuted in this county for our worship, what if we where what would the body look like then? Would the chaff and wheat be separated? Is the church out to lunch because of the chaff or are we sinners and can not possibly perfect anything? This is why I like to see my relationship with Jesus in a world view, not an American view. In India what is the church like? What about China? Who is Jesus to them? Is it the same Jesus in America?

This American Life. :Rated G if not they will tell you ahead of time
This show is fantastic. I love the host Ira Glass. They have excellent topics. They describe the show as “first-person stories and short fiction pieces that are touching, funny, and surprising” I like that the pod cast in an hour long.

Nobodys listening :Rated G

Right from the webpage:
Nobody’s Listening is two half-brothers, James & David (& Aimee), telling hilarious true stories from their present and past lives
They also read listeners stories. Chopper and I have a picture on their homepage this show is funny, funny funny. The older shows are the best when it was just the 2 brothers, the sound quality was better and the recap song was awesome.
